Oil on canvas oil on canvas painting signed G. Ballot (Georges Henri Ballot–French) (1866-1942). Georges Henri Ballot was born in 1866 in Paris. First, he studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He was a student of William Adolphe Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. As of 1885, he presented the Salon des Artistes Français from, an annual art exhibition of the Société des Artistes Français in Paris. From 1896, he exhibited his works at exhibitions of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. 1905 and 1906 he traveled toAlgeria and Tunisia. After his return, he participated in exhibitions of the Société des Peintres Orientalistes français part, a company founded in 1893 society, the art direction Orientalism and of artists traveling in the Far Eastpromoted. Ballots Painting Mosquée à Bou-Saada (representation of a mosque in Bou Saada-a town in Algeria) was bought by the French state. 1908 Ballot partakers of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, 1923 he became a member. In 1933 he won for his oriental landscape paintings, which had arisen under the influence of his travels, the Charles Cottet Prize. His main works include the painting La Maïda de la Mosquée of Ouled-Hamed, which he in 1906 for the first time exhibited and later at the Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Alger and the Musée Nogent-le-Rotrou was shown and Aïn Sefra, the 1918 from French Ministry of Foreign Affairs was purchased. 1942 Ballot died in Paris
