Eugène-Henri Cauchois was born on February 14, 1850 in Rouen (Normandy). He first began studying under Ferdinand Duboc and Cauchois debuted at the Salon of 1874. While his still lifes continue the representation of his type of Art, singular in itself, discovery of Cauchois’s work outside of his flower paintings will usher in a new understanding of his work.
