Portrait of Boy and His Dog, American,1845
This American oil on canvas is attributed to American itinerant artist Mrs. L.B.Chapman it is the companion piece to ref#2821347432, (a portrait of a girl ) . The boy's name is Inscribed in pencil on the stretcher : "Henry Hingman Wheaton, Oct 12,1845, Winchester, N.H. painted by Mrs L.B. Chapman". The previous owners had lined it on a new/stronger stretcher. They gave us original stretcher where someone had written that history on it in pencil. We don't think we still have that old stretcher but would provide it to the buyer if we find it later. Our Item # 13440
