French artist Agénorie Monique Laurenceau was born 26 June 1830, in Beaugency (Loiret), studied painting under the celebrated Alphonse Muraton and Joseph Suchet. She exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1864-1879. Known for her Genre scenes, landscapes, flowers and still lifes, she also painted porcelain. She lived in Tours (France) from 1850 to 1871, then in Marseilles, and la Mède-lès-Martigues. Agénorie Monique Laurenceau died on 9th January 1907 in Châteauneuf-lès-Martigues nicknamed the ‘’Provençale Venice’’
