Commentary

"Jean Beniere was highly influenced by the works of the Impressionist and Post Impressionist painters such as Sisley and Signac. His colors appear to shimmer on the surface of the canvas, and his application of short dabs of complementary colors adds movement and depth to his composition. Beniere's rapid, well defined brushstrokes add a rhythmic energy to his compositions, which were inspired primarily from his native Paris, it luxuriant parks, animated street life and busy waterways along the Seine."
