"Model with Brancusi Sculptures", Gelatin Silver Photograph, 1939

List Price $1,000

A model in a Schiaparelli ensemble admires Constantin Brancusi's sculptures in this photograph by Louise Dahl-Wolfe. Behind her is perhaps Brancusi's best-known sculpture, "Bird in Space". A fashion photographer, Dahl-Wolfe (1895-1989) is often accredited with discovering Lauren Bacall when photographing the young model for the March 1943 cover of Harper's Bazaar. This photograph is a gelatin silver print, and originally photographed in 1939. Reprinted in the 1980s. It is offered unframed.
