"Woman with Pearls" by John D. Walker, Photograph, c. 1990
The soft glow of a woman's face stands out from the tangle of gorgeous pearl jewelry in this black and white photograph by John D. Walker. The vintage design of the jewelry and the woman's make up bring to mind the 1940s Hollywood Regency era, a sense of faded yet eternal glamour. Aside from his own artistic pursuits, Walker was the Chief Photographer for 10 years and Art Director for 6 years for the Pepsi-Cola Company and taught at New York University. He has worked from his Santa Fe studio since 1970.
This black and white photograph is signed by the artist and set in a white mat with a carved silver wood frame.
