Rare antique Chinese six panel coromandel screen finished in a red lacquer that has faded into a rich burgundy color. Made in the late 1800's. It is decorated with detailed screens of pagodas and aristocrats at leisure. The opposite side features birds, tress, flowers and foliate design. Generous carving and lacquer designs. Good condition. Wear is consistent with age and use with small losses and cracks in original finish that add to the antique look of this piece of Asian art. This rare color screen sits on carved feet with a darker lacquer finish.
