Modern Regency Chairs from 1950's, attributed to Baker
An unusual pair of light and graceful 1950's modern chairss with a bit of Hollywood Regency flair. The backs are smoothly carved and feature a chic gilded element. These mid-century chairs have been newly upholstered in a warm neutral gold with a herringbone weave. Research convinces us they were made by Baker between 1950 and 1959. The design is specific and unusual. These have been reupholstered a couple times and no labels remain. The seats are fairly low at 15" and would get along well with other vintage modern or with antique French chairs. They are easy to move for conversation in a living room - and would also work beautifully in a master bedroom.
