Impressive British Colonial swing back bench made entirely of hand carved teakwood featuring a rotating back to expose sunrise or sunset orientation. The bench has its original hooks on all four corners for hanging also. The backrest features Hindu style carved fretwork panels, two decorative porcelain tiles, and a beveled mirror on the back splat. The bench sits on cabriole legs and has carved open stretchers around the apron. All hinges, hooks, and hardware are brass. Excellent vintage condition with age appropriate wear. Unique example of British Colonial craftsmanship and integration of cultures.
