American Victorian Period Hand Carved Wooden Camp Chair
This is an original Victorian era camping chair made out of wood, that is hand carved to resemble a chair made of twigs or branches. This chair was acquired from the estate of a New York City apartment, from an owner to took great care of this chair, and had it beautifully reupholstered. The new fabric that makes up the seating area of the chair has a wonderful hand embroidered decorative trim of yellow, cream and green, and the seat fabric is a deep burgundy colored, thick linen. The work on this chair really makes it a wonderful piece of living room furniture. The chair itself is no longer foldable as these chairs used to, but it has now been made more solid and comfortable. The woodworking is really fantastic, knots on the branches, or twigs, are faithfully rendered, making the wood look like wood. The wood itself has aged well and it makes this a really remarkable and elegant piece of furniture for the home.
