Silver and Enamel Fleur de Lis Match Safe, Ludwig, Redlich, & Co.

This is a lovely silver and enamel match safe, made by Ludwig, Redlich, & Co. (New York, NY) around 1895. The front is decorated with four light blue fleur-de-lis in a diamond shape. The color of the enamel is a beautiful sky blue and it goes quite nicely with the silver backdrop. The back of this match safe is monogrammed "EAB." There is a strike on the bottom. There is a slight color variation to the silver on the front of the match safe that you can see in the photo.other than that this piece is excellent condition. The enamel is in great shape and the hinge works perfectly.
Ludwig, Redlich & Co., later Redlich & Co., was formed in 1890 by Adolph Ludwig, a former designer at the Shiebler Silver Co.

It measures 2 1/2" x 1 3/8" x 1/4" and weighs 30 grams. It is marked with the number 12.
