A Medallion Gorham Coin Silver Gilt Creamer & Sugar Bowl

A Classical two piece set with a Gorham coin silver creamer and an open sugar bowl that display a repeating neoclassical pattern. This is a very elegant set and a great addition to a silverware collection. They have a golden interior gilt finish that is in great condition with no visible wear. The initials WMW have been engraved onto the pieces, and each open bowl is flanked by handles that have medallions with portraits of classical figures. They are 6 1/2 inches high and weigh 24.6 troy ounces. The sugar bowl is 5 inches wide including the handles and the creamer is 4 inches wide with handle. At the base of each piece the silver mark of 430 and the maker's mark can be found. Gorham Corporation was the most prolific and influential silver company in America from 1850-1940.
