Chinese Export Sterling Silver Glass Decanter, circa 1900
Turn of the Century Chinese Export Silver glass decanter with a beautiful bamboo leaf pattern and 4 window silver cloak. This decanter has a particularly extravagant flowing silver neck, that opens for a silver top that has a carved bamboo shoot drawing engraved into it. Wang Hing was the first of the Chinese export silver makers to replace the original brass wire mesh cage of the spirit bottle with a silver cage. This silver work, with the ornate decoration of the bottle, soon became the most coveted item among the affluent foreign communities and Chinese. The bottle is 11 inches tall and 4 inches wide and is in great condition.
