A Hizen Pattern Sterling Silver Fish Fork by Gorham
This is a gorgeous sterling silver fish fork, made in the Hizen pattern by Gorham in the 1880s. The name "Hizen" comes from an old Japanese province. It is a multi-motif pattern incorporating the Aesthetic Movement, which was strongly influenced by Japanese Art. This particular piece has a chased floral decoration to the handle and an engraved hummingbird, sitting on leafy branches on the blade. This fork is in excellent condition and the pattern is still crisp and clear.
It measures 9" long and weighs 3.6 Troy ounces. It is marked "STERLING," and with a lion, an anchor, and the letter "G," indicating that it was made in the 1880s.
