Fine Louis XIII Walnut and Ebonized Table, Burgundy France, circa 1700.
The top was originally pegged to the apron. The visible pegs on the top of the table correspond to existing holes in the apron. The top from the underside shows its age (photographed), the top side has been refinished in Europe in the European fashion. The top is now pegged to the apron by blocks that are not original but the original top pegs remain visible from the top of the table. It also looks like the dovetailed drawer runners (one per drawer in the center ) that are attached to the center turnings and act as drawer stops were replaced at some point but copy the original design. More photos are available upon request.
