Belle Epoque Period Iron Grill, France circa 1895, Custom Table
A superb Belle Epoque period cast iron grill from France c.1895. Please notice the amazing three dimensional quality of the deeply sculptural iron work that creates a pattern of variously sized leaves each with five points set within a scrolling framework. This piece was originally used as protective covers for windows and provided security with a beautifully decorative appeal. The slightly oxidized finish of the antique iron contrasts handsomely with the custom metal frame created to showcase them. The frame has been expressly designed to float the glass above the grilles so their attractiveness is fully visible no matter what is placed upon the 1/2" thick glass. The height of this table makes it ideal for use as side tables beside a sofa or between chairs. We have more than one if a pair is desired.
