Baker (United States, 19th Century)

Historic Baker Bureau Plat Writing Desk

A historic, antique, Baker Furniture Bureau Plat writing desk finished in black lacquer with fancy, cabriole legs with scroll feet, and scalloped apron. The top features a gallery and the desk has an abundance of gilt trim. This working desk was purchased from "The Carnelian Room" in San Francisco, California. This circa 1900's desk has age appropriate wear and lots of chips in original lacquer finish. It is missing one original brass pull from the center drawer and replaced in the last ten years. Lovely vintage patina on this historic San Francisco piece.
