Russian Period Centre End Table Circ. 1810
Very fine Russian Period Occasional Table. Possibly Russian Jacob. Circa 1810. Birch wood and bronze mounted table having one drawer under an octognal top. The top supported by a bronze inlaid center pole standing on a tripod bronze ribbed group of legs on a support base. A wonderful example of a Russian Table from the period. Fresh from a fine Park Avenue Residence. Jacob furniture was named after the famous French cabinet maker Georges Jacob. Its characteristics are the exclusive use of mahogany with inlaid brass geometric shapes.
