Pair of Early 1920’s FortunyPillows “Boucher” pattern in Sage Green with natural overlay
Pair of Rare early 1920’s Fortuny “Boucher” pattern but has no formal description. The fabric is light green sage with parchment overlay, deeply saturated on the backside blue/green as seen in the pictures. The design is less floral in style and has more fantasy creatures then the newer Boucher fabric printed today. Backed with silk linen that perfectly matches the neutral overlay from the front. Silk linen has a grainy effect similar to that of actual linen. It is however 100% pure silk that is nubby with a plain weave. Finished around the outside edges with 19th century bronze metallic cord that matches the fine outlining around the design, the inserts are 100% down. Condition: These pillows look like they have a light fade mark or water damage down the front but they don’t since it’s exactly the same on both pillows. Probably from not being printed as heavily as the rest of the fabric since this was hand printed. Sun fade would be all over and not in one line.
