French,17th Century, Pair of Gobelin Tapestry Fragment Pillows
Finely woven silk and wool 17th century French Gobelin tapestry pillows, one depicting a floral motif with ribbons and elaborately decorated helmet with feather plume, the other depicting a Grecian lady under a portico and two intertwined snakes above two men in headdress with knot and tassel motif along the edge. Edged with an 18th century saffron silk and silver metal thread galon trim and 19th century 2” long gold metal fringe trim. Finished around the edges with a 19th century German bronze cording, all on taupe silk velvet, 100% down inserts.
