Rare Original Mid-Century Lithograph by Peter Max (1937 - ) titled "Satchidananda"
This is a very rare Original, Hand-signed, Limited Edition Lithograph by Peter Max (1937 - ) and is numbered 47/300; this piece was published in 1970 and is hand-signed "Peter Max 1972". This was a piece done by Max of Satchidananda Saraswati who came to the U.S. in 1966 as a guest of Peter Max and who was integral in bringing the study of meditation, yoga and tolerance to a society disillusioned by the disarray of the 1960s and was quoted as stating: "[t]hey are all searching for the necklace that's around their necks,'' (of the Woodstock generation) . . . ''[e]ventually they'll look in the mirror and see it.'' This piece is in pristine condition, recently custom, museum-framed (acid-free) in a high-gloss black lacquer frame and custom triple-matting. This is an heirloom to pass down through the generations - spiritual and iconic - this piece is listed at $12,500 in the 2010 Edition of the Printworld Directory, so this is truly a special find!
