Original Lithograph by Alexander Calder (1898 - 1976) for DERRIERE LE MIROIR (No. 156)
This is an Original Lithograph by Alexander Calder (1898 - 1976) for an exhibition at the Galerie Maeght in Paris, dated 1966 (Edition No. 156, Plate No. 6). "Derrière le Miroir" was a very sophisticated art journal published by French art dealer, Aime Maeght from 1956 – 1982. Over its timeline, it published approximately 250 issues. Galerie Maeght opened in Paris in 1945 and exhibited the work of many of the most distinguished contemporary artists of the time- including Matisse, Braque, Léger, Steinberg, Chagall, Bram, Miró, Kandinsky, Giacometti, Calder, Derain and Bonnard as well as many others. Our Derrière le Miroir collection are the original lithographs from those publications and are all museum matted (acid-free) to protect them from any damage or foxing. The image is 11" x 15" and matted measures 16" x 20" and are ready to be framed. These are not reproductions or posters and many, if not most, are authenticated by the French writing on the back of each piece.
