Leo Dee (1931-2004) American; "Musician", an Original Abstract Silverpoint Drawing, 1964
An original, exhibited silverpoint drawing of a highly abstracted musician by well listed New Jersey artist Leo Dee that is signed in pencil, titled 'Musician', and dated 1964 (a very important year in the artist's life). Dee's use of silverpoint (metalpoint) drawing was inspired by Joseph Stella whose works he was exposed to in the late 50's at a gallery that represented both himself and Stella. Silverpoint is an extremely difficult and unforgiving medium to master, but Dee clearly demonstrates his artistic proficiency with the technique in "Musician".
