Study of a Bull
Red chalk drawing on cream wove paper
Illegible signature on verso
This masterful study of a bull was done in the early 19th century. It is signed on the verso, but the signature, which begins with “Eis…” is not completely legible. The beginning of the name indicates that it is possibly German. The drawing came from a private collection in New York City.
