A famous painter, Red Star was born on the Crow Indian Reservation in Lodge Grass, Montana. He was one of the first students at Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His work was influenced by the avant garde and political concerns of the post-modern art movement. His niece, Wendy Red Star, is an up-and-coming contemporary artist. It is signed and numbered in pencil from an edition 0f 150 with Artist's Proofs. This work comes unframed.
