"Marilyn Monroe from the Black Sitting 1" by Milton Greene, Silkscreen, c. 1970
American movie and fashion icon Marilyn Monroe kicks her legs in the air as she poses for photographer Milton Greene. Part of the famous "Black" sitting from around 1953, this particular image from the series shows Marilyn laying down, laughing, wearing only stockings and a black cloth. This makes for an endearing portrait, highlighting her infamous playful yet seductive qualities. Greene (1922-1985) was a fashion photographer, best known for his photo shoots with Monroe. They were also close friends, and ran a production studio together. This silkscreen is signed and numbered in pencil, edition: 300. It is offered unframed.
