"Baby Condor" Signed Serigraph by Victor Delfin, 1979
Peruvian artist Victor Delfin shows a colorful baby condor, the body of the bird flowing out and off to the sides into a purple rectangle. The bird has distinguishable features, but is by no means realistically portrayed; between the colors and the way Delfin renders the body as two-dimensional, this condor is a creative folk art rather than a true-to-life. Delfin finds inspiration in the Paracan culture of Peru, which was part of the Incan civilization. Because of this influence, he often chooses birds as his subject. This work comes unframed and is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist from an edition of 200 with 30 Artist's Proofs.
