"The Four Seasons" by Herbert Bayer, Silkscreen on Foil, 1969
Optical artist Herbert Bayer presents the four seasons as interpreted in a geometric abstract. Each of the four circles has their own color with a crescent of purple-blue. The textures of the colors contrast the sheen of the foil background. Bayer (1900-1985) studied both architecture and Bauhaus design as a student and worked a number of artistic ventures, from art director for Vogue Paris to graphic designer as well as his own artistic career. This silkscreen on foil artwork is signed in pen and numbered in pencil, edition: 22/70. It is offered in a white mat with a silver wood frame. Image Size: 17.5 x 17.5 inches.
