Sharpe (q.v.) she began an a miniaturist, and, turning to a larger form of watercolor painting, was elected a Lady Member of the O.W.S. in 1829. They both began to exhibit portraits at the Royal Academy in 1817, and they lived together until 1834. In her last years she made watercolor copies of pictures in the Victoria & Albert Museum, her last productions being Rphael's cartoons. She retired from the O.W.S. in 1872. She was a woman of forceful character despite her works, which bear titles like "The New Mamma", "The Dying Sister" and "The Little Dunce".
