A wonderfully vibrant Fauvist watercolor on paper landscape by well listed artist Guy de Bouthillier-Chavigny, painted in 1947. Bouthillier was from an affluent French family, his father was a Marquis and government minister in the 18th c. Bouthillier art studies came with the finest pedigrees, he studied under Claude Monet for 3 years, and then continued his studies for another 2 years under the tutelage of Pablo Picasso and John Singer Sargent. The artist moved to Glendale, CA around 1932 where he resided for the remainder of his life.
